Clinical Excellence

Vanderbilt Dermatology’s expert faculty work in a variety of specialty clinical programs, caring for adults and children in both outpatient and inpatient settings across middle Tennessee.

Our clinical providers offer comprehensive general dermatology services including Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs) surgery, phototherapy, contact allergy testing, dermatopathology, dermatological cosmetic surgery and laser treatments.

We treat a full range of skin conditions with cutting-edge technologies and research-informed care.

Clinical Programs

Education

Vanderbilt Dermatology faculty teach state-of-the-art clinical and basic science medicine within a collegial atmosphere. We are highly committed to teaching and mentoring, offering unparalleled clinical training opportunities.

Our highly selective, three-year clinical dermatology residency program includes extensive surgical and pathology exposure. We also offer a procedural dermatology fellowship program specializing in Mohs.

We train future dermatologists to become excellent clinicians, scientists and leaders in their field.

Research

The Department of Dermatology’s research programs flourish within the vibrant, rigorous scientific community at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Robust grant funding and cross-disciplinary collaborations allow our investigators to advance the understanding and care of dermatologic diseases.

The department’s highly accomplished faculty uses patient- and data-based research to support growing programs in immunobiology of skin disease, clinical applications of novel imaging, the genetic epidemiology of skin cancer and more.
