Dr. Eric Mukherjee
Professional Bio

Eric Mukherjee, MD, PhD, is an Instructor in Dermatology and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Drug Safety and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is interested in general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, basic science, and medical student/resident education.

He received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Brown University, and his MD and PhD in cell and molecular biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where his thesis researched antibody development in autoimmune blistering disease. Dr. Mukherjee subsequently completed an internship in internal medicine at Waterbury Hospital and a residency in dermatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, serving as chief resident in his final year.

Dr. Mukherjee currently works as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Elizabeth Phillips, researching the genetics and immunology of severe adverse drug reactions. He is also a practicing dermatologist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
