Professional Bio

Courtney R. Schadt, MD, is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Vice Chair of Education, Vanderbilt Department of Dermatology. She is board-certified in dermatology and practices general dermatology with expertise in complex medical dermatology and dermatology resident education.

Dr. Schadt returned to Vanderbilt as faculty in 2026. Prior to this, she was a dedicated clinician and educator at the University of Louisville Division of Dermatology, where she served as Residency Program Director and Dermatology Clerkship Director. Dr. Schadt has also served in national leadership roles, including Chair of the ACGME Dermatology Review Committee and co-chair/co-founder of the Association of Professors of Dermatology Program Director Section. Dr. Schadt enjoys teaching and writing, giving lectures at national meetings, and serving as the Patient Page Editor for JAMA Dermatology.

Dr. Schadt practices general and medical dermatology and has a particular interest in autoimmune connective tissue disease, autoimmune blistering disorders, other inflammatory disorders of the skin, and non-melanoma skin cancer.
